Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy for Sleeping Difficulties

You are here:

According to statistics from the NHS, Sleeping Difficulties affects one in every three people in the UK. Symptoms can include:

  • Finding it difficult to fall asleep
  • Lying awake for long periods at night
  • Waking up several times during the night
  • Waking up early and not being able to get back asleep
  • Not feeling refreshed when you get up
  • Feeling tired and irritable during the day and have difficulty concentrating and much more.

For some, it can come and go without causing any serious problems, but for others, it can last for months or even years.

Studies have shown that when we sleep, our unconscious mind acts in a way similar to a person tidying a room. Whilst we sleep, our mind files away items into their proper place so everything runs smoothly and much more efficiently. If you are not getting enough sleep or your sleep is of poor quality, it can have a significant impact on your quality of life. It can limit what you are able to do during the day, affect your mood, and lead to relationship problems with friends, family and colleagues.

You are probably not getting enough quality sleep if you constantly feel tired throughout the day and it’s affecting your everyday life.

It can be caused by several reasons such as:

  • A poor sleeping environment
  • Lifestyle (including shift work)
  • Mental Health Conditions
  • Physical health conditions and
  • Certain medication
  • And many more

Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy actively seek to address the cause of your sleeping difficulties. Until the cause is resolved, it is unlikely to improve. Depending on the level or cause of your sleeping difficulties, sessions can range from between 1-2 for straightforward problems to 3-6 for deeper issues.

Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy is an extremely effective method of resolving aspects of your life that are not helpful for you. If required and during our time together, I can also teach you some ‘self-hypnosis’ techniques so not only will you be able to relax more in general, but be able to put yourself in a ‘trance-like’ state before you go to bed and have an improved level of quality sleep.
